At the Airport

Most hire cars are in the second car park in rows B & C. Your hire car company will have given you instructions and your hire car will be easy to find. Before you begin your journey make sure your hire car has enough fuel for the journey there is a petrol station close to the airport terminal. As you exit the airport bear left to enter the one- way system to access the petrol station.

Getting onto the A22 Motorway to Lagos

Leaving the airport terminal follow BLUE signs marked A22, N125 Faro onto a dual carriageway for about 3 kilometres look for the blue sign N125 Portimao. Go carefully it is a sharp turn to the right easily missed. Join the N125 dual carriageway from the slip road which enters from the right so look over your left shoulder as you join the traffic. Drive on for about 6 kilometres where the two lanes split, enter the left hand lane marked A22 Portimao, and drive on for about four kilometres. Exit onto a slip road marked A22 Portimao which is a motorway and settle back for the 70 kilometre drive to Lagos which will take around 50 minutes at a steady 100 kilometres per hour. Portimao is the last major resort before Lagos where you will find a service area and petrol station if you need to top up.

Almost there

Go past the exit for Lagos east and exit the A22 Motorway at Junction 1 marked Vila do Bispo and Sagres. Follow the dual carriageway for about 3 kilometres over a roundabout to the next roundabout and bear right onto the N125 towards Vilo do Bispo and Sagres. The world famous Boa Vista Golf Resort is on your left 200 metres along the road. Carry straight on for about five kilometres to Almadena and turn left at the traffic lights onto a small country road. Follow this road for a few kilometres to a T junction on a bend, bear right, you can see the villa on the sky line. Drive for a few hundred metres to a left turn going up hill, climb the hill and bear to the left at a small junction. The road narrows as you drive the last 200 metres to the gates of Casa das Figueiras on the left. Open the gates and enter the driveway there is parking for several cars aorund the rear of the villa.
